The French Umbrella

Once upon a time there was this place called San Sebastian, where there lived many people. One day, our heroine, Nim, needed to buy a stronger and bigger umbrella, because in this city it often rained and when it did, it was like a hurricane storm.

So off she went with her friend, Anne, to buy this indispensable object. They entered a Chinese store, which are everywhere in the city. To her surprise, she found something really pretty. It was found while searching endlessly for a decent or a kinda good-looking umbrella.

It was like love at first sight. It was white all over, but it had little black coloured animations of French girls. It was adorable, Nim could not resist its charm. She bought it.

The next day, Nim was invited to a party. She fixed herself up, and wore a shirt with the Eiffel Tower just so she could use her lovely new umbrella with her outfit. She didn't have any idea of what would happen later on.

When she woke up day after, she found herself in Marion's house. Marion's boyfriend left her there because she got really shit-faced in the party of the other night. When she was ready to leave and go back home, Nim noticed something was missing, apart from some of her money. The umbrella was missing!

After three months of being missing, Nim discovered it was under the possession of Marion's now non-boyfriend, that I like to call "fun-buddy". It took so long to even hear about it from Marion. Nim wept for the loss of her umbrella, because the evil "fun-buddy" didn't wanna give it back.

This morning, while Nim was sitting in her universities sofa, she saw Marion come in. In her friends hands she saw it. Yes, it was her umbrella. Nim could hear the French painted girls singing a French version of the "Aleluya!".

The French umbrella had felt the void of Nim's absence and when it spotted her, it flew toward her, eager to meet with her owner once more.

Never again will Nim leave her precious umbrella in the evil "fun-buddy's" house.

Dedicated to Marion, someone who I care deeply about, but cant trust when it comes to my French umbrella.
